Hi, I am Shivaji ('Basu' is the Lastname!), an Engineer by Profession. Call me "SHIV". Having graduated in Marine Engineering, I worked with various Shipping Companies from 1973 up to 1991. Eventually, I quit sea and moved 'ashore' in October 1991. Ashore, I was with ISGEC John Thompson (Steam Turbine maintenance division), then with RPG-Rolls Royce Power Engineering Limited, where essentially, I was looking after Steam Turbine related Thermal Power Station After Market Business & Projects driven by Rolls-Royce's Power Division and finally (and now) with Calcutta Electric Supply Co. Limited since 1999

Then there is my 'better half' - a marvelous wife, a super mother & a great cook too! Deepanita is her full name, but everyone calls her "DEEPA". When I met her, she had just completed graduation (in 'English') and was into her Master's. Things happened quite fast! We tied the 'knot' on 4th of December 1979. Never worked - except for a short while in a play school. Currently, of course, stays busy with our small Web Designing Firm's admin & finances.

Priyam is our lovely daughter. Just recently graduated in Information Science Engineering & is employed with Tata Consultency Services. We call her "JIJA". Born in 1986. Older of the Two! In the 10th Standard now. Hobbies are - Chatting, Chatting and ...., as with the "GenNext" from all over the world, these days!

Our son, Protik, joined us last. That was in 1990. Quiet sort of a guy. He is, more populary, known as "JISHNU". Now in the First year of Mechanical Engineering.

Believe it or not, THIS IS how we were way back in the early eighties. I think, this was in 1981 to be exact - in a little town called Wangarei, in NewZealand.

Feeling at HOME!! In Search of Rhinos! December 1997 - at Kaziranga Reserved Forest in Assam, North-Eastern India.
